Our customers ask great questions. We want to share some of them with you.
Question: How can I get rid of old paint cans?
Answer: Most likely, we can take them away for you. The trick is to make sure the paint inside is entirely dry. Then, you can just put them out with your regular trash. The EPA does not allow us to haul liquids, but as long as the paint is dry, no problem.
Question: What happens if I have items for disposal outside my dumpster?
Answer: Our drivers don’t want to take your treasures. To be sure, call us prior to pickup. We’ll let the driver know to be expecting the additional items and discuss with you any extra charges you might incur.
Question: What is auto pay?
Answer: We will process your payment for trash removal service automatically with a credit card or debit card. No need for checks, envelopes or stamps. No more pesky little post cards! Just give us a call or send a secure order through our website www.brownstrashremoval.com with your card number and expiration date. It’s easy.
Question: What do I do if I need an extra emptying of my dumpster?
Answer: Just give us a call. We will be happy to put an additional emptying on our schedule and tell you what extra charges you will incur. If you find that you are frequently scheduling extra emptyings, it may be more economical to upgrade your dumpster size or emptying frequency. We will gladly help you choose your most economical option.
Question: What happens if my dumpster is blocked at the time of my pickup?
Answer: In an effort to continue to keep your costs down, we sincerely request that you make sure we have easy access to your dumpster on your pickup day. As you know, our trucks and drivers are very efficient. They can connect to your dumpster, empty it and be on to the next customer in a very short timeframe. They are not instructed to wait while vehicles or other things blocking access are moved.
Question: I need to put my dumpster up in the woods. Can I do this?
Answer: Sadly, no. We understand how useful a dumpster can be for that special job. Although dumpsters are handy for many applications they must remain on a hard, level surface. And the truck that emptys them must also. To insure emptying, we ask that your dumpster remain at it’s original placement.
Question: How do I keep the trash from freezing to the inside of my dumpster?
Answer: Ah yes, Old Man Winter can and will cause frozen dumpsters! To aid complete emptying, keep the dumpster lids shut between emptyings, and on occasion loosen the items from the sides of the dumpster. In addition, frequent emptyings will help.
Question: Do I have to use 30 gallon bags?
Answer: No. Other bags weighing less than 50 pounds each are easily handled and gladly accepted. Since we like to do a thorough job and do not want to leave rubble littering your property or neighborhood please have all your trash contained in bags.
Question: What can I put in my dumpster?
Answer: Most things can go in your dumpster. They should be things that crunch up easily. Sorry, no liquids, hazardous waste, car tires/batteries, freon appliances, animal carcasses/waste, or large pieces of wood or metal. We can make special arrangements for some of these items. We also require special arrangements for earthly materials like dirt, sand, ashes, and gravel.
Question: Can bad weather conditions cause my service to be interrupted?
Answer: There have been very few times in our 22 years where weather conditions have made it impossible to provide service. To avoid possible damage to your property, and insure everyone’s safety, our drivers use their best judgement regarding accessing your location. Of course regular service will resume at your next scheduled day.
Question: Can I put my remodeling and construction debris in my regular dumpster?
Answer: Of course. Simply call us to let us know the type of compactable materials your dumpster will contain. This way we can be sure to use the right equipment to accommodate it. Keep in mind there is different pricing for construction and demolition materials.
Question: I’ll be doing spring cleaning, can I get my extra stuff picked up?
Answer: Absolutely. Just put them out with your regular pickup. For especially large quantities of extra items or large items like
furniture and mattresses, please call us ahead of time. We’ll be sure to send the right equipment to get it picked up.
Question: I was wondering if you could put up on your web page a Pick-Up Schedule including any holiday delays? Thanks
Answer: Great idea. We put it at www.brownstrashremoval.com now for your reference. In addition, here it is:
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR 2006
After Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day 2007 pickup is
delayed one day.
Please have your trash available by 6 am on your pick up day. Thank you.
Question: Do you rent temporary dumpsters?
Answer: Yes, we have dumpsters in a variety of sizes. All of our sizes are available for permanent placement and some sizes are available for temporary use. We will gladly help you with your dumspter needs, just give us a call. You may also want to visit our website at www.brownstrashremoval.com to see dumpster information. You can even place your order there if you like.
Question: Animals get into my trash. Do you have any suggestions?
Answer: We know this can be a real problem, especially in the country.
We can provide a 96 gallon can with wheels and an attached lid at a monthly rate of $3.00. These cans are very sturdy, keep the animals out, are quite mobile, and stand up nicely to heavy winds. Of course you can purchase a trash container at a retail store if you prefer.
Question: Can I get vacation credit?
Answer: Certainly! Just suspend your service in advance and we won’t
charge you for the time away. Remember, if you are moving
away or need to cancel for any reason please call to avoid
further charges.
Please watch this area. Over the next few months we will be updating this page with the great questions asked by our customers. You may find the answer to your question here.
